The Knights of Columbus Council 5145 hosted another successful Charity Golf Tournament this past Saturday at The Babe Zaharias Golf Course, welcoming 16 teams for a fun-filled day of competition and community support.
The event raised $8,500 to benefit the council’s charitable efforts in and around the Nederland area. Golfers teed off at 8:00 a.m., enjoying a beautiful morning of friendly competition while contributing to a great cause.
Participants had opportunities to win special prizes, including a shotgun raffle and a 50/50 split-the-pot drawing. Breakfast was generously provided by Rao’s Bakery and Shipley Donuts, while lunch featured BBQ sausage links and ice-cold drinks courtesy of the council.
The competition was tight, but Team Aguillard claimed 1st Place with a total score of 53, followed closely by Team Gregg in 2nd Place with a score of 54. Team Tate took home the Wild Card Draw prize.
Individual honors went to Ryan Stelly for Longest Drive, and to Brian Satin (Hole #2) and Shane Trahan (Hole #12) for Closest to the Hole.
The council extended special thanks to Mitch Duncan and the staff at The Babe Zaharias Golf Course for their outstanding hospitality and continued support in hosting the annual event.
“We’re grateful to all our sponsors, volunteers, and players who made this year’s tournament such a success,” said
Bryce Gregg tournament chairman. “We look forward to seeing everyone again next year.”
